Sometimes making new friends and setting in can be a bit daunting. At CampusKey we have monthly CKonnections to help find your tribe, have fun and get out of your comfort zone. From quiz nights to tie-dye events we cater to everyone’s vibe.

Wellness Programmes

At CK we love to give back to yuo, the CK fam and our community. We host monthly workshops and mental wellness programmes to help you thrive academically, mentally and physically. Our Kindness Factory programme also allows CK students to make a difference within the community. Whether it’s a food drive or a community clean-up, every bit counts!

Kindness Factory

Some of us were born to be change-makers & trendsetters. The CampusKey mentorship program allows you to lean into your skill and get some hands-on team and leadership experience before heading out into the “real world”.

Mentor Program

At CK we love a smooth transition! That’s why we host a Freshers week filled with activities and connections to help first-year students adjust to University life, meet new people and mostly just have fun! We end it all off with a massive Kickstart Party to kick off the year on a high-note. DJ starts playing “live your best life – by CampusKey”!

FAQS

Got questions? We have got the answers!

Do I have to be a registered student to stay at CampusKey?

CampusKey is built for students, but our spaces aren't only for them. Short Stay is open to travelling guests, and CK Club is for students who live off-site.

How old do I have to be to stay at CampusKey?

You must be at least 18 to stay at CampusKey. Applicants under 18 may require consent and supporting documents from a parent or legal guardian.

Which universities and cities is CampusKey close to?

CampusKey has student accommodation in six university cities: Cape Town near UCT, Pretoria near the University of Pretoria and convenient for TUT, Bloemfontein near UFS, Stellenbosch near Stellenbosch University, Potchefstroom near NWU and Gqeberha near NMU. Choose your city on our Locations page to find your closest CampusKey.

What happens when I decide to cancel my application?

Plans change, we get it. You can cancel your application at any time. Have a look at our current Cancellation Policy on the website to see which terms apply to your booking.

What is included in my room?

Your room comes fully furnished, so you can move in and make it yours. Every room includes a bed and mattress, desk, cupboard space and a panel heater. Some room types also include extras such as an LED TV or weekly room cleaning. Inclusions vary between campuses and room types, so visit your preferred campus page and check the Rooms and Prices section for the full breakdown.

How do I book my Check-in appointment and why is it important?

We’ll email you when it’s time to book your check-in appointment through your Student Portal. Booking ahead helps our team prepare for your arrival, get you settled faster and make your first day at CampusKey as smooth as possible.

When can I Check-in?

Your official check-in date will be available on our socials and in your Student Portal. Check-in usually takes place during January. Keep an eye on your inbox and portal so you don’t miss the details.

Is parking available at CampusKey?

Yes. Parking is available at our campuses on a first-come, first-served basis. Depending on the building, you may find basement, undercover or open parking bays. You can add parking when you apply, but spaces are limited, so booking early is always a good move. Platinum rooms include an allocated parking bay.

Does CampusKey provide me with meals?

Meals aren’t included, but every private or shared kitchen gives you the space to cook for yourself. Meal-prep master, instant-noodle enthusiast or group-dinner regular, the kitchen is ready for you.

Why are there half-year room inspections and is it compulsory?

We use the June and July break to inspect every bedroom and repair anything that needs attention. It helps us keep your room in great condition and gives us a chance to sort out the small things before they become bigger problems. Room inspections are compulsory and form part of our Terms and Conditions.

May I invite friends over?

Of course. Your friends are welcome to visit. You’ll be responsible for your guests while they’re at CampusKey, and they’ll need to follow the CampusKey Student Community Guidelines. Overnight guests aren’t allowed, and no guest may stay in your room when you aren’t there.

Are there rules regarding noise?

Yes. Our no-noise hours are between 22:00 and 08:00, giving everyone the space to sleep, study and recharge. Quiet hours may be extended during examination periods. The full details are included in our Student Community Guidelines.

Are there house rules?

Yes. We call them the CampusKey Student Community Guidelines. They’re there to keep our community safe, respectful, supportive and enjoyable for everyone. You can download the latest version from our website. Good vibes work best when everyone plays their part.

What other services can I apply for together with applying for my room?

You can add extras such as secure parking and a WiFi speed upgrade while completing your online application. Choose what works for you and build your best CampusKey setup.

What fees are payable before I occupy my room?
