So Much More Than Brick and Mortar: Redefining Student Spaces

So Much More Than Brick and Mortar: Redefining Student Spaces

At CampusKey, we believe that a living space is not merely a collection of rooms and kitchens; it’s an experience crafted through thoughtful design and innovative decor. Our spaces redefine what student living can be, transforming ordinary buildings into vibrant communities. We caught up with our Architectural and Experience Designer, Celesté, to delve into the creative journey behind our unique spaces.

The Essence of Playfulness

Celesté’s design philosophy centers around the concept of play. “Student life is synonymous with fun and creativity,” she explains. This idea is woven into every aspect of our interiors, where curved lines and soft shapes create a sense of movement and fluidity. These elements encourage exploration and interaction, making each space feel dynamic and alive.

Curated Design Elements

One standout feature Celesté introduced is the roly-poly chair, a piece that embodies curiosity and individuality. Inspired by the Memphis Design Group, the chair is just one example of how vibrant colors and bold patterns are used to create a harmonious blend of chaos and order. Social spaces are filled with energetic palettes that inspire activity and engagement, while bedrooms are designed with calming hues to offer a peaceful retreat.

Inspiring and Relaxing Spaces

Our goal is to create environments where residents feel both inspired and at ease. “We want everyone to feel at home and free to express themselves,” says Celesté. From intimate meeting pods to communal dining areas like CKmini, every corner of our spaces invites a sense of belonging and relaxation. The true magic, however, lies in how these spaces foster community and togetherness among residents.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of CampusKey’s design ethos. “Partnering with local designers and manufacturers who prioritize sustainable practices is crucial,” Celesté notes. The materials and furniture we use are chosen for their longevity and recyclability, ensuring our spaces are eco-friendly. Our commitment to a circular economy means we strive to minimize waste and promote sustainability in all aspects of our design process.

Seeing Spaces Differently

Celesté’s innovative approach challenges conventional perceptions of student living. “My job is to make people see things differently,” she says. Her vision drives CampusKey’s mission to create beautiful, practical, and sustainable living environments.

Through vibrant hues, playful curves, and thoughtful design, our spaces embody CampusKey’s ethos: Live your best life. Here’s to spaces that inspire, connect, and transform!
